Ceol na Mara
The house was originally built in the early part of the 20th century and fell into considerable disrepair during the 70’s and 80’s. In 1996 a major refurbishment was completed to bring the house up to standard. The house name " Ceol na Mara " is Scots Gaelic for " Music of the Sea " - aptly named because of the haunting melodic tones of the water reverberating off the rocks in the tidal loch way below the house. The staircase, residents' lounge fireplace and exterior walls have all been preserved from the original building. A three storey extension was built joining with the original structure to complete the renovations.
